Biography

• Hometown: Shelby, North Carolina
• Year graduated: 1982
• Major: B.A. Pensacola Christian College, Music Education; M.A. University of West Florida Curriculum and Instruction
• Favorite food: Shrimp and grits
• Favorite place on campus: Crowne Centre. It is wonderful to worship in Campus Church with so many students, faculty and staff, and our Pensacola community.
• Favorite Bible verse: Psalm 98:4 “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.” This entire Psalm celebrates God’s beautiful creation and music, praising our God. It makes me happy!
• Hobbies/interests: Reading, cooking, and grandchildren
• Sports I like to play: Enjoy watching others play!
• What attracted me to PCC: The students I met in my hometown and the faculty when I visited campus
• Advice for future students: Come prepared to work hard, but be sure to schedule in fellowship with other students. You’ll make lifetime friends in college!
• One person I would like to meet and why: C. S. Lewis. His Chronicles of Narnia were favorites in my childhood, and I love sharing them with my grandchildren.
• Favorite class in college: Student Teaching Internship. What fun it was to put all my studies together and teach others!
• Best PCC memory: The first day of college, I met a young man who later became my husband!
• How I spend my free time: I love to read, walk on the beach, and thrift.
• Most unique places I’ve traveled: The Canadian Rockies are so majestic and beautiful, and Florida Gulf beaches have the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets! I also recently enjoyed a trip to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where we saw wild horses on the beach.
• People would be surprised to know that I . . . have 16 grandchildren!
