Biography

  • Hometown: Browns Mills, New Jersey
  • Year graduated: 2018 (B.A.), 2020 (M.A.)
  • Major: Music (Voice concentration)
  • Favorite food: My husband’s gumbo or chicken Parmesan
  • Favorite place on campus: The lobby of the VPA
  • Favorite Bible verse: 2 Timothy 3:16–17. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
  • Hobbies/interests: Baking, reading, singing, teaching, jogging
  • Sports I like to play: I did try playing softball, soccer, and even football when I was growing up. I prefer jogging though to any other “sport.”
  • What attracted me to PCC: It was my dream to visit PCC because of being homeschooled with Abeka from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade. I also loved that it was a Christian environment that would help me grow into a godly person with biblical discernment.
  • Advice for future students: Trust the process, and keep doing what you know the Lord says is right, even if you are not sure how everything will work out. God’s ways are higher than our ways. Our best-laid plans may not always be what the Lord has, but His ways are always better.
  • One person I would like to meet and why: As a singer, one of my favorite classical singer role models is Luciano Pavarotti. If he were still alive, I would absolutely travel to hear him in concert.
  • Favorite class in college: Voice Materials and Methods during my junior year. It piqued my interest in teaching voice as opposed to solely performing.
  • Best PCC memory: Being in Fine Arts productions. While I was a lead role in HMS Pinafore (my third Fine Arts performance), my favorite one was La Bohème as both my future husband and I were in the chorus together.
  • How I spend my free time: If I’m not hanging out with my three kiddos in the evening, you’ll find me either eating a favorite dessert with my husband after putting our boys to bed or doing course work for a class (yes, two degrees were not enough, so I’m working on a third!). Oh, I may also sing for things here or there.
  • Most unique places I’ve traveled: I was able to travel with a group to Israel in the summer of 2018 after graduating. I would love to go back someday.
  • People would be surprised to know that I . . . sing opera! So, if you immediately think of Mozart’s famous Queen of the Night aria as what I sing, then you are absolutely right.
  • Favorite PCC tradition: You guessed it . . . Fine Arts!
  • Favorite quotation: I heard this saying once in chapel that I have never forgotten: “If Christ is magnified, I am satisfied.” It’s become a life motto for me.
  • Ideal/favorite vacation spot: Somewhere along a beach and away from most people! I tend to just enjoy quiet time with my family whenever I have the opportunity.
  • Things I can’t live without: The Lord, music, my hubby and kiddos, and my church family
  • Fun fact: I was involved in Civil Air Patrol for six years growing up and, at one time, wanted to go into the Air Force. While the Lord had different plans for my life, I credit that time for growing my leadership abilities and instilling in me a sense of responsibility and excellency in fulfilling whatever is given to me to do.
